Waterproof if correctly installed, PVC is used mainly for drop blinds, awnings and tarpaulins. The polyester base used in the construction of this material is a full “Panama Weave”, consisting of two yarns running together in each direction, giving extra tear strength. PVC liquid paste is applied containing plasticizer agents, and pigment and UV stabilizer ingredients help protect the material to a certain extent from sun damage. This coated base cloth runs through an oven at about 200º C where it sets and becomes solid, flexible PVC.
